If the compressor tried to start straight away the load would be too high. The startup delay allows the pressures in the system to equalise so the compressor uses less power to start again. It also protects the system when it is first turned on in case the unit has not been sitting level.7.CAN SOLAR PANELS BE USED WITH MINI FRIDGES?The car fridge will not work properly if directly connected to solar panels, as the voltage output fluctuates too much for the controller built in the fridge. You can, however, connect solar panels through acharger/regulator to a12V battery running the fridge. The requirements for heavy duty wiring between the battery and the fridge are the same as recommended for battery only operation.8.
